okay, so while the buttons above can be helpful, here's some other tips.
on this forum, html code uses "[]" square brackets as opposed to the "<>" you're used to seeing on livejournal.
FOR THE SAKE OF EXAMPLES REPLACE THE ( ) WITH SQUARE BRACKETS
most commands are going to be
(command) text you want to act upon here
(/command) such as :
i = italicized (i) italicized (/i)
b = bold (b) bold (/b)
color = color of text. (color=aqua) aqua colored text (/color)
you can use certain words like red, aqua, teal, etc or use the # before the html color code number (color=#00171) text (/color)
u = underline (u) underlined text (/u)
strike = strike through.
Text you want to look like this (strike) text (/strike)
left = left align (left) text (/left)
center = center align (center) text (/center)
img = insert an image such as from photobucket
(img=httplinkhere) link name (/img). There isn't going to be any spaces between img and the = or between the = and the link.
url (to embed a link) = (url=websitelinkhere) Title here (/url)
(URL=*Insert Url here*) this is my link name (/url) -- remember that you cannot have a space between the end of the url address and the bracket. There are also no spaces between url and the =, and no space between the = and the link address. Usually if your link isn't showing up right that's the reason.
Spoiler - in case you want to embed some OOC talk without it interfering with text of the RP (spoiler) spoiler text here (/spoiler)
- Spoiler:
This is how that would look once you click on spoiler show. I had to change the color of the text because it was too hard to read with the spoiler box background color. If I can figure out a way to change that I will so you don't have to code your spoiler text another color.
Also keep in mind you can use the handy buttons above to format your text. But sometimes knowing the code is helpful.
